Getting Started

Before rushing in and using GuildLink take some time to think about the best approach. If you have been using the desktop version of GuildLink you will already have content that you have either made from scratch or that you have customised from content supplied by PSL.

You can transfer this content to the web ready to use online but you need the latest version of the desktop software to access the new move to cloud option.

New Content for 2015

In 2015 PSL has published new, updated content that is laid out in a format to better suit the latest audit requirements and that differs from the old content. During conversion you have the chance to let the converter update your internal references to closer match the new content. It wont be able to match every document as sometimes a document has been split into two documents for added clarity.

Suggestion_16x16 It is STRONGLY recommended that you don't convert your data. Simply print a copy for reference and start with all new content. MOST pharmacies will want to retire all of their existing content and use the new content. Therefore, there is NO ADVANTAGE to converting the old SOPs into the web and it just makes more work.

If you do convert

Then you will most likely retire most if not all of the content and replace it with the new content, see scenario B

Typical start up scenario A - recommended

oSign up and create a site

oImport content shared by PSL

The content supplied has place holders such as where to add the pharmacy name but remember, the content is supplied as a starting point and auditors will want to see that pharmacies have considered how the content applies to each setting and that the content has been amended accordingly.

oCustomise / personalise the content

Use the edit screen to customise your content

oAdd your own content, you can add new content for unique scenarios

oPrint the content

Its important to print the content and get staff to sign that they have viewed it and keep a copy of this process

oOver time new content may become available, you can import and customise it but you will want to mark old content as replaced so that it doesn't show and print with the current content.

oWhen you find an operational issue that requires an update to a scenario (such as a dispensing error) considerer making a new version of an existing SOP. That way the old SOP is available for viewing by auditors and the new updated content shows how you have learnt and improved.
